Everything has to get worse in order to get better.
My blog is about what's the world facing now. It's good that humanity already knows the answer but the politicians in Europe and in the United States of America are a little slow to understand the problem.
What we need is the skill of China, India or Brazil to speak with one mouth.
We need unity, consensus like in the Dutch polder model.

Tunisia-Egypt
After 30 years of dictatorship in those countries finally the people rejected the dictator.
Suppression doesn't work on the long run my old friend told me, people will always deny it and find a way out of it. After the party work has to be done.
If we were democracy then we should take Algeria, Maroc and Iran too.
That's what we gonna do ...

agreement
After 111 days the negotiators made a compromise how to govern Holland. Now the Christian party has to agree upon the compromise.
Sad day for us, beautiful day for the followers of politics. It's gonna be a slap stick, a show, something to follow from a distance to see the mistakes made.
In the last 100 days people not belonging to the inner circle of the negotiators and party members didn't get any information about what's going to happen. Public opinion was on a holiday because there was hardly any detailed news about what was happening. These were the closed doors, the backroom politics Wilders talked about. Now he's part of it. Never talk again about these backroom politics, mister Wilders!
The parties of this minority in parliament has to approve the agreement. This is a slap in the face of democracy. A minority rules Holland. A minority decides on the faith of the nation.
It might be cancelled however a name for the next cabinet will be Rutte-Verhage. Are these 2 courageous and overconfident men the henchmen of the wizard of the political right wing?
Who knows, the agreement is not yet public and the parties didn't judge it. Saturday everything will be clarified. There is an opera about these political exciting days.... the tenors, alts just sing Yes, yes, No, Yes, no, no. Movies could also be made out of this comedy of political life.
I hear disapproving voices about the in political situation in the Works Council, on the work-floor. I only heard one voter for Wilders. I don't understand why these people disapprove the attitude of the voters for Wilders. The municipality has to accept that there will be cuts in public spending. So we got to take advantage of the negative news. This must not be a threat.

swarmdemocracy
Early this morning I heard a theory about starlings.
The number of starling that is necessary to make a swarm is the square root of the total number starlings. For a swarm of 1,000 starlings only 33 must have the same idea. These are social animals you know. You must have seen them on a rooftop, crowding in trees or on a high voltage cable above the ground. In September, October they'll be grouping to make the flight south, to south Europe and Africa.
Humans act the same way. The guerilla marketing is based on the same principle. Only a relative small group of people make a complete population follow the large number. Often it works better than expensive advertisement campaigns. Some brands are ruined by the geurilla marketing.
Maybe the Dutch democracy is based upon the same principle. One party which got 1.5 million votes decides the faith of 16 million. It's a swarmdemocracy in the Netherlands nowadays.
A relative small group can decide. We saw it with Fortuyn and his legacy. We see it with Wilders this time. The other parties don't want to miss contact with the mass who voted for him.
The other parties follow the small one.

democracy
In the Greek period of Homerus, Socrates and other wise men (men and women!), there was democracy. But what kind of democracy. One had to belong to a certain class to raise their voice. Later the Roman empire was an oligarchy. The old empire was ruled by a few men and their family in their own interest.
In the western world we still live in an oligarchy. According to some this is the irow law of Oligarchy. This theory was formulated in 1911 and says that democracies develop into oligarchies. The reason behind this can be found on wikipedia.
What happens in Iran looks to me as a reaction on the suppression of the Iranian theocratic government. But suppressed people will always find a way out I was told. So, where are their votes?!
According to the International Programs Center, U.S. Census Bureau, the total population of the World is 6,788,007,610 06/21/09 at 12:33 GMT (EST+5) Only a few worldleaders decide the faith of the world. Isn't that tragic?
update: watch and hear the news updates about the G8-meeting in Italy. They want to reduce pollution and stop climate change. Their goal is world average temperature not to increase with 2 degrees Celsius.
I say this because I don't feel myself involved in this decision making process. It's an example of the oligarchy on a world scale.
How can we fight that oligarchy? It's not how to fight oligarchy but how to become active instead of being passive. A passive population is one of the reasons why an oligarchy can exist.
Have a look at Russia. In Russia is no real opposition. Medvedev and Putin have a carte blanche ruling Russia.
The best example of an European oligarchy is Italy of Berlusconi. He's is a person a lot of Italians hate. They just do nothing because the majority doesn't matter him to be in power. He´s chosen but that doesn´t make him no oligarch. Some people say that he is a delay on Italy's development.
Do I undestand that oligarch´s collect power. Do they in order to preserve their power don´t want change in their Kingdom?

4th of June
Election Day in the Netherlands and Great Britain.
It was a day to vote for the EU parliament.
The silly thing is we got to vote nationally.
That means that for the appr. 730 seats thousands of would be European parliamentarians are on the list. In my country we can only choose 25.
And the most stupid thing is that head president of the EU, at the moment Portuguese mr. Barroso, will be chosen behind the curtains of talks between heads of the member states. There isn't any transparency. This is no democracy.
So world, even in Europe there isn't real democracy.
I voted on a party that is in favour of the EU but doesn't want to expand for a while. The party lost half of it's previous seats. My party I vote for nationally gained in the EU elections. They doubled their seats.
